HDMI wont work on my tv

January 21st, 2020

ok i know the HDMI cable works fine as ive tested the same setup using allt he same equiptment on a different TV and it works. but for some reason it wont work on one of my TV’s.
on another forum one guy said the HDCP keys in the tv can get corrupted and they need resetting. Could this be the problem if so what are the generic ways u can reset a tv? (i cant ask the manufacturer because they have been bought out by another company)
if anybody has any ideas f what the problem could be and how i could fix it, it would really be appreciated thanks,

1) Is the TV is a supported HD?
2) The TV didn’t detect the HDMI..
3) Clean the dust, if there are..

the tv supports hd (composite works fine)
well the tv automatically changes channel to hdmi whenever i power any hdmi device on so it must know there is a device there but then a message comes up saying ‘no signal’
i will check the connection on the tv to see if anything is blocking it and report back
this has really got me stumped
thanks for the reply

Is the device out putting a usable signal? If your TV is only 720p and the device is doing 1080p then it will be rejected.
Also try connecting the device through some other analog cable, then also plug in the HDMI and set all the settings to hdmi through the analog cable and then restart the device.

on the ps3 i connected it up using composite cables while the hdmi was still pluged in and then changed the display to HDMI int he ps3 setiings. i then quickly changed channel to hdmi and all i get is a black screen so i dont even get the option to choose the resolution first. i feel like throwing it out the window lol

weird.. I think you should try contact professional (like the one installed your TV or the place where you bought the TV) for assistance.. because HD-TV are new and sometimes only the “highly trained monkeys” know how to do it..

This, it’s most likely that the device is trying to output a higher resolution or higher HZ then the screen is capable of.
