[Not Solved] Nvidia GeForce 460 with HDMI 1.4 – Not work?

September 28th, 2013

Like the title say, I have nvidia geforce 460 768mb graphic card, and a 1.4 hdmi connector (HDMI for the screen to the mini hdmi which is for the video card). Now I have plug that in, it doesnt show anything on the screen and left it black. When I replug the DVI, it shows up and works.
Is there any settings to turn on HDMI for nvidia before connecting the cable from screen to video card? Just want to ask if there is, and that might be the reason that doesnt show up? Please help guys, I dont understand why this HDMI to Mini HDMI 1.4 isn’t working.

Yes my driver is up to date of 285.62 version. What do you mean by HDMI during install? You mean the NVIDIA driver detects the HDMI to install them automatically? If do, then how can I use HDMI then update it, because it impossible. It just show black screen while pc is running.
Any other chance to try out or?

I have done updating the beta driver, it doesn’t solved the problem. I left HDMI plugged in and used DVI to install latest driver then I unplug the DVI, then try using HDMI, nothing shows up as it said No signal, no connector found.
Also my monitor doesn’t have a setting where people can change input method from DVI to HDMI. There is none, my monitor is Samsung T27A950. Any help would appreciates it, please help guy this stressing me out.

FYI,You won’t get any better image quality using HDMI:

Back to the main issue,Have you tried disconnecting the DVI cable from both ends?
Also,Try this,Turn your PC off,Connect the HDMI then power up,See anything on screen?

That’s true but I have a reason to use HDMI. Since I’m using HDMI > DVI adapter as my monitor only support HDMI input. The Adapter take too much room behind the monitor and I had to move my desk forward to let all the space there. Reason why I want to get HDMI is because is much simpler to plug in then I can put the desk all the way back to where the wall is.
On the other note, I have found out that the HDMI cable is internally damaged meaning theres no power, no signal etc. It was illegally produced and sold. I bought other HDMI which will be 1.3 not 1.4 this time since there not much difference between 1.3 and 1.4 anyway. Once I receive the HDMI to Mini HDMI 1.3c, I’m willing to try these steps again and hopefully it work when it just plugged in. Expect to get them tomorrow, or during the week.
