In terms of games then the GPU will be alot more effective to improve performance. It may be possible for you to invest in a cheap but good cooler and overclock the cpu to get a bit more performance out of it. That chip is not the best overclocker though but you should get 3.2-3.4ghz without to much hassle, provided you have a decent motherboard.
Answer #4
If you play a lot of games, then upgrade the graphics card, otherwise the processor should be upgraded first.
Answer #5
Im looking more for Gaming upgrade
Answer #6
Buy a new graphics card then OC the cpu.
You will see an increase in performance
Answer #7
What Graphic card would you recommend ?? Up to 130GBP
Answer #8
Depends on the games you play.
Answer #9
HD 5830?

Mid-range GPU. I agree with the others, get a decent fan and overclock that thing.

400W PSU

You will most likely need to upgrade your psu as the 260 won’t run under a 400w and also get a good branded psu not a cheap one.
Answer #14
Im hardly good at Graphic Cards and CPU but at PSU im totally lost, Can u give some recommendations ??
EDIT: I found this one it has rating 10 out of 10 and only cost 99dollars but I live in UK
PSU: http://www.amazon.com/XION-PowerReal-Supply-Retail-XON-1100P14HE/dp/B002TG3BJA

Well, normally what I would say is to get a 650w psu, some will disagree with me here saying you won’t need that much however its better to get more for it to be more future proof if you get me.
Here is the graphics card I would buy here its a 460 gtx – http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Graphics+Cards/Nvidia+GTX+400+Series/GTX+460+Series/Zotac+GeForce+GTX+460+768MB+DDR5+SYNERGY+Graphics+Card%09%09%09+?productId=42536
Now here is the psu I would buy –
http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Components/Power+Supplies/650W+or+less/Coolermaster+GX650+80Plus+Certified+?productId=41771
The total is 188.56 with out delivery
Answer #16
What PSU do you have right now dude? If it’s a good 400w unit you wont need to change it for a GTX 460 or a HD6850. The system will not pull even close to the 400w mark, doubt it will ever even reach 300w.
Answer #17
Personally, i would get the cpu out of the way first and upgrade the graphics later, but I’m not very much of a gamer. It depends on what you spend most of your time doing
Answer #18
Now here is the psu I would buy -
lol CM’s GX PSUs are absolute rubbish

I will have to agree on that one, that series from Cooler Master has the worst voltage regulation.

When is without delivery where would I have to go for it ??Personally, i would get the cpu out of the way first and upgrade the graphics later, but I'm not very much of a gamer. It depends on what you spend most of your time doing
I spend 2-3hours playing then for 1/2hour I go on net and then back to games some most of times I play games
Answer #21
You don’t really need a new CPU, I have an AMD at 2.2GHz that runs every game I own on highest, get a new GPU, try something like a HD 5830:

Or a GeForce GTX 460:

If you need a new PSU, which you might, get this:

All UK prices so you should be able to buy them.

I dont know

Does anyobody know any PC generator where your enter your budget and it will put PC together for u ??

Answer #24
if you have the pc more for games then buy a new GPU,i recommend HD 6850 or GTX 460 or better depending on your budget.
If you want the pc for general use.such as video encoding, office etc. then you should buy a new processor.Though i think you have to buy a new mobo as well if you are going for Core i3/i5/i7 or AMD Phenoms/Athlons.
Answer #25
As I said before I play games alot, so I think I would by GTX460
Answer #26
The HAWX 2 voucher is just a keycode for HAWX 2 I think, it just happened that that GTX 460 is on offer at the moment so it’s the cheapest and it has a free game.
Answer #27
And Do U have the 8800GTS Utra Version??
Regardless of model, since a 8800GTS Ultra doesn’t exist. Still too old, 3 generations.
Answer #28
Is GTX 460 lot better than my 8800 or just bit better, because I dont want to get something That wont really increase my perfomance

Answer #30
Thanks everybody for their help and opinion, if you have any more tips just write it here.
Answer #31
Hi, i got my new pc yesterday, my previous pc had the same video card as yours, GTS 8800, and it runs black ops very smooth, other games like just cause 2 or crysis wont run smooth on max. it has 4gb ram, so it depends what you want to do. I’d suggest upgrading them both, buy atleast an nvidia GTX460 and upgrade to at least 4GB ram
Answer #32
I would say both , but graphic card is important if you want to play games Very Happy
Answer #33
processor for faster gaming, no lags
