Fallout 3: New Vegas won’t install

January 22nd, 2020

I’ve literally downloaded this game 4 times, from 4 different posts. One being a repack, and that just gave an error with a buncha ??? and random letters.

every time I install the game, I get an error with this file, retry just makes it try again, and then fail. Ignore makes every file after this say it’s corrupt too.
.. any ideas?

Did a google search, try this:
1) Go into your Programs/Common directory and find the InstallShield directory
2) Rename the InstallShield directory to somethign like “InstallShield_Old”
3) Install the game.
This apparantly puts a new version of InstallShield on your computer.

Hmm, okay, I did that, I don’t think it put a new version on, cause theres no new Installshield folder after running the setup.
But the setup still ran into the same error.
thanks for the help, though.

Hmm odd. It was from a forum where a guy had the same problem as you and that was how he solved it. You did rename the right folder yes?
Make sure your running the setup as an administrator as well. Any apps you use in the background like demon tools etc, make sure you exit out of them cos they are know to cause problems with some installers.

yeah
theres not one on program files/common files, though, so I just went to that one.
Alright, I tried running the installer without any mounting software in the background (extracted the iso), as an administrator, still get the error. But this error happens sooner, with a sound file..

I downloaded the CloneDVD version, ripped it using pheonix, totally looked promising, cause all the files are there. Made sure the registry installed path was correct, applied crack. Just crashes on startup, no intro or nothing.
