Dual core phones worth it ?

August 26th, 2013

hey guys,
i just wanted to ask if its worth buying a dual core phone right now .. since no apps that are out now, really make use of the dual core processor.
i was thinking of buying either the SAMSUNG GALAXY R or the SONY ERICSSON XPERIA NEO V ..
so i was wondering if i really need the galaxy R with its 1GHZ dual core and 1GB of RAM .. or should i just stick to neo V(1GHZ single core and 512MB ram) as i’d be saving about a 60$.. other than that both phones are very similar .. i.e both are getting ICS .. both a 5MP camera.. etc..
please give me your suggestions.

‘no apps’? Climb out from under your rock man….
If you want ICS, it requires a dual core.

the ICS part is not true
my phone (lg p500 is crap) and it has a alpha version which is almost done.
but i reckon go for dual core.
most of the good/famous apps are optimised for it. as dual core phones are quite normal now.
also from what i know they are longer lasting as it takes less battery to run the same tasks. (not 100% sure about this)

I can tell you from experience, it runs like crap otherwise.
You can install Windows 7 on a PC with 512 MB of RAM, just don’t expect it to run smooth.

Kids today, bicker about anything.
I am not talking about “one” phone, or even my phone for that matter. I use a blackberry, lmfao. I have installed ICS on quite a few phones, and never seen it run good on any single core under 1GHz.
But again, sorry for sharing my experiences, you apparently know everything there is to know about every phone out there =/

Yes it does run fine on single core 1 ghz,so i was right in pointing out to Smashedr that you dont need dual core to run ICS, i have seen it run quite well on single core phones without any lag.
As for dual core , bit pointless at the moment, there is nothing that requires it that cant be used on single core.

actually no, dual cores are a lot faster imo.
i would choose a dual core anyday over a single core. specially if the difference is just $60.

Guess its just a matter of opinion,i have a a single core phone and it is super fast, cant see how it could be faster, it runs just as fast as a SG s2…
