Downloading in Japan, Current Situation?

December 24th, 2013

After reading numerous articles about the copyright law in Japan becoming a lot harsher I want to find more information about it that is up to date.
The only posts I have found about it are 2+ years old
What I have found so far:
– Uploading illegal files = Arrested
– Torrenting illegal files = Likely arrest
– Streaming illegal files = Not arrested
– Live streaming illegal files host = Arrested
– Youtube (similar) illegal files = Not arrested
– P2P = Arrested
– Direct download = Unknown
Can anyone correct, confirm or add to this summary of information?

Answer #1

Thanks for the advice, but if was that easy I wouldn’t be posting here.
I have found translated japanese forum posts about it:

Anyone who downloads knows that there is a risk, I have had trouble with torrents before so I try to stick to DDL’s
I’ve coded the link(s) for you this time – if you don’t know how to do it, please check the sticky thread in the helpdesk section.
Plomos
