Does DVD format matter when burning Windows 7?
January 27th, 2020
No. Just make sure it’s big enough to support the OS, obviously. And make sure the one you’re downloading works perfectly, so read comments, etc.
Usually the pre-activated ones always work perfectly. I’ve been using a pre-activated version of 64bit ultimate for over 3 months now.
Good luck.
Edit – Also make sure never to burn an OS to a disk faster than 4x speeds. Reasons being is since it’s an OS you want it to take its time burning so you have a flawless install.
Oh yea the copy I’ve used works great but I had been installing it with my Ipod and its such a hassle I figured I’ll just put it on a dvd. I use those DVD+r DL for xbox so didn’t want to waste if it would mess up..
So if I’m using IMGburn should i just load the iso or will i need a .dvd file?
That is an 8GB disk, if you have just a singe layer dvd (4.7gb) then use that instead. However it doesn’t matter which media you choose, it will work.
EDIT: Just burn the .ISO then when your bios loads up, select booting options (usually F12) and select the DVD drive. Hope this helps
Nope, just burn the .ISO right to the DVD and it’ll work fine.
yeah,- i second that. Burn at low speed to be sure., But if you dont wanna waist discs. And you have 2 internal ‘HDD in your pc. then why not just use a virtual disc tool? Look at the tutorial in my sig if you wanna know what i mean. Easy as h**- anyways – lyck with the burning.
