Does Age Matter When Ordering?

Do currys or any other company who do finance out on things check the age of that person thats makin the order?
Like, Currys say I had to be 30 (but really am 24) to order something, If I put in my date of birth, but changed the year. Would they find out Im not actually 30 or is it just something to fill in on the order?
Like the VISA security thing ya have to go through at the end of an order.

Yes they will check your age they have to do a check on you and your credit rating to make sure you can pay back the amount asked

It all depends on what you try and order. For some controlled things they might have to do a background check. But generally for credit card orders the only things they verify is your First/Last/CC number/expiration/CCV2. I fill out all crap information for address/postal code/phone number etc, for online orders for intangible goods. EX: cd keys etc. But from personal experience, I’ve got a paypal/ebay and I’m only 16. I’ve ordered tons of things which require you to be 18 to my PO box which I pay for monthly.

nice anytime befor you reach 18 you can stop paying and other than a bad creditreport they cant touch you

I wanted to order a TV from currys but they refused me, they even refused my gf whos 18 and has no debt or credit history.

althaugh they would check ’cause now its in rules they check your income to land you some.. how are they sure that they will get what they pay for.. you understand?

James, sometimes they will refuse you if you have no credit history, as they can’t be sure you’re reliable just because you’ve never bought something on credit before. Also, whenever I’ve done finance or had my credit history checked, I have given a fake year for my date of birth, and I’ve still never been refused. They obviously do not check your age when doing these background checks! However, Vodafone did want a large deposit to start my contract, as I did not have any credit history.
