Here we go again….
You can create MKVs for which I will hate you, but you can also create AVIs that I will detest. Likewise, you can create AVIs that I will like, but you cannot create AVIs that I would like more than every MKV you could possibly create, because MKV gives you more and superior possibilities
Please read about what a container is, because that’s what both AVI and MKV are. This may also let you understand, why nobody can tell you (and those that do are simply wrong) what will be better except if you provide more details about what you plan to put into the container. (And no, answering “the movie” to this question will not score you any points )
