Some games are already compressed, and some aren’t.
I recommend you to check this:

I have seen what you are trying to do, but the higher the compression rate, the higher the chance of errors and much data corruption.
I would not recommend anything over 10% compression myself. Think of it this way.. Mp3s have different data rates. The smaller the rate the smaller the file, but the lesser the quality too..
or another example
You can have a hd picture of say 5mb and there are programs that can make them say 1mb with out losing the size of the image,
but the quality of the image is reduced by say 60%
That make any sense to you?

He isn’t talking about that kind of compression, he is talking e.g. when you compress something size is small but after you extract the files you will again get the normal file size.
One example.
I have Dishonored Goty and its size is 12.8 GB.
If you use Winrar you can compress it to 10 GB.
And if you use FreeArc (without srep/precomp) you can compress it to 8.15 GB.
But after you extract one of them size will be normal again i.e. 12.8 GB.
And that is what he is trying to do, compress the games so he can easily upload them and it will be also easier for someone with limited bandwidth.
And those games won’t be ripped or something – actually it is up to him will he remove other languages, will he change video rates.
On Dishonored Goty he can spare additional 1 GB if he re-encodes movies to 50%, then with FreeArc size iz 7.15 GB.
Also game has pck and upk files and if I remember correctly they can be compressed if you use srep and precomp, even srep only is enough I think.
And then he can achieve file size of ~6 GB I’m sure.

While freearc provides some of the best compressions, i would recommend against using it because of the low support for the .arc extention
7-zip can provide a very decent compression given a large enough dictionary size

Actually, if someone use freearc (or some batch script with needed files) you would create .bin files and with the use of inno setup you would “install” them.
But there is a lot of programs available around, and everyone of course has its own decision on what to use.
NSIS
Inno Setup with custom scripts – “black box”, yener, razor (|Leader| use one script made by Razor for his CoreRepack), altef_4 …etc.
Advanced Installer
7-zip with sfx maker or with sfx builder is nice.
Winrar sfx is really nice and simple.
Setup Factory – It is what I use, it is like winrar but with GUI, it is extremely easy. And with this I use Autoplay Media Studio to create Autorun menus.
