Capped Rapidshare speed?

January 27th, 2020

When downloading from rapidshare (premium) with IDM I find that files are capped at 1 MBps. When downloading from IE from fast sites (ie www.microsoft.com) I can hit much faster speeds (10+ MBps). Downloading from megaupload as a free user has yielded faster speeds at times also. Torrents do not seem to exhibit this speed cap but newsgroups do. I must admit I am pretty stumped. Can anyone help? I am using my university internet (UCLA).

Nope not the speed limiter in IDM. I am aware of it and am positive it is not the reason. @
That is what I was thinking. I do find it a bit curious that rapidshare and newsgroups would be capped while torrents and megaupload aren’t?
Answer #4
have u tried to use a proxy?
Answer #5
i assume you have idm settings,–
connection type/speed set to lan 10mbs, and default max conn.number to 16 ?
Answer #6
yes i did have it set tp lan and max conn. to 16
i dont think it has to do with idm as mu downloads through idm hit speeds faster than 1MBps (as a free user at that)
