Best place to get free books for amazon kindle?

I’ve just got the amazon kindle 4, and was wondering if there are any places where I can download the normally paid ones for free?
I know you can put PDF’s onto it, but I’d rather have the actual format making it much easier to read.
Any suggestions?

I know, but I’ve looked and i’ve only found them in .PDF format.
Are yours in pdf? or the Kindle type?
