Asus P550CA WIFI adapter replacement [SOLVED]

January 27th, 2020

I have an Asus P550CA laptop, and the Mediatek MT7630E WIFI adapter has completely stopped working.
I have eliminated software issues as the culprit, and so I am faced with the prospect of replacing the adapter itself.
I removed the plate covering the hard drive and memory hoping that the wifi adapter would be visible from there, and it is not, so I obviously need to dig deeper into the laptop in order to access it. I have looked all over and can’t find any information anywhere on how to accomplish this.
I’m pretty tech saavy and have built and maintained dozens of desktops, but am not as well informed when it comes to laptops.
I would really appreciate information on the process of accessing this adapter so that I can replace it
Thanks

The easiest way is to watch a few youtube videos on disassembling the Laptop:

Thanks, turns out the X550 is very similar, this should be a piece of cake.
