Anyone use Apple TV for media player?

Ive read the internetz and its basically because at the minute neither Boxee or XBMC can use both the GPU & CPU of the ATV.
However Apples FrontRow is reported to be able to do just that.
Anyone using an Apple TV to play 720p or 1080p films?

Hey nath – I’m considering picking up an apple tv but I’m hung up on its apparent inability to deal with mkv files without much mucking about. Apparently 720p’s sketchy and 1080i barely plays! But thats just what I found from cruising the forums. How’s your atv doing right now?

Like you say its touch and go, anything HD is sketchy. TBH its not as ideal as Id have liked, mac mini maybe the way the forward.
