media player

my son has free view in his room but the ariel is shyte, can any one recomend a media player his tv is hd has hdmi lead and all that.and would like iplayer and stuff like that on it,cheers in advance.needs to be wireless for internet.thanks

has he a laptop with hdmi output? use that. if he already has a game console he could use that.

xbmc is great media player software if youwant the whole media center experience and it works on all major oses.

if you just want to play media files quick, use mplayer or vlc, both also work on win, mac, & linux

thanks to both replys. problem is its a old laptop no hdmi. as i said in my first post his tv has only got built in freeview but it keeps on breaking up.what he wants is a media box so he can watch tv and use the likes of bbci itv player etc thru the internet using a wireless media box. would a roku box do that
