AGP Graphic card help

under 140$ there is no stuff that can run RA3 at high level mate!u have to raise the stick to up a lil bit like 250$ if u wanna play RA3 at high mode!
alright, how about 200$, i dont wanna spend too much money yet
btw, how about a 2600 pro or xt? i heard the xt version does fairly well in gaming considering its agp

well a good card for that price is the HD 3850 for $199. Its pre overclocked but you can push it further if you want. Best AGP card you can get.

could you tell us the specs of your entire system?
because if your specs are bad then it wont be worth getting a decent grpahics card as the rest of you system will bottleneck badly
my old pc had:
p4 3.2ghz
1.5gb ddr 400mhz
120gb hdd
sapphire hd3850
it would run cod 4 on highest settigns on a 1440×900 res
and it also ran crysis nicely on medium (or high with custom graphics settings) at 1440×900

a 3850 costs around 150 ~ 175$ in canada, idk what it is in the states, but by the looks of it, it’s cheaper in canada.

If you decide on this card, it is (1) EXTREMELY LONG, (2) check your power on your system also.
I have been playing cod4/5, Crysis warhead, Mass Effect, Bio Shock, Stalker SOC, Dead Space, Far Cry 2, ALL at least medium settings or at High (crysis warhead & Dead Space). Very smooth game playing

ye but can you say what the case structure is. I.e how many fans intake, how many outtake, how much space inbetween the side panel to the AGP slot and the space from the back panel of the case to the front. It may not fit or may overheat without proper cooling
its a cool running gpu it wont overheat unless overclocked

whatever you do dont buy from saphire please .the 3850 on agp from them was a total failture i have a 3850 from HIS and it work like a charm + specs are a bit better

well it depends, sapphire make a cut down version which is a single slot cooler so not as effective. However due to the ruggedness of my case i managed to keep the card 35c coo, but look for either dual slot coolers or a heatsink fan type
