Acrobat wont let me copy and paste anything

Before I updated my Adobe acrobat to the new 9 Pro version or whatever.
It used to let me copy and paste chunks of text …
For example, from an old exam paper, downloaded off the net.
However, for some reason everytime I C+P now, I get a Adobe not responding message, then a crash report box. And then it closes. (Not just one window, but every window)
I’ve tried updating it, incase it was a glitch, but no joy.
Any suggestions?

Might be a dodgy version?
