Acer lcd 22″ monitor keeps turning off

January 21st, 2020

Ok, i bought this monitor, and after a few minutes of playing or web browsing, it shuts off. Now, i know what your gonna say, buy a new one, that’s the problem it’s a replacement of a new one, which i thought had to be RMA’d. Ok the monitor shuts off, but not completely, the power switch stays on, and once i press the power switch it returns. This happens ramdomly, i have a 19″ monitor(not wide screen), and it never happened on that one. Please any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Send it for repair or replacement…Not much you can do…

It is a replacement, just bought this two weeks ago. And they both did the same thing, and my non-widescreen never gave me that problem.

No idea…All what I can tell you is…I had the same problem with one of my monitors..And I’m fairly competent in repairs..But I just dumped it and got a new one…

i think the problem is when u open firefox with winamp or only firefox becasue i never had this when i had internet explorer also my graphic card is nvidia geforce 5200 fx
because the monitor turns to black but u can see something if u really look good into it u see icons but all black
and then u need to turn off it and turn on and it backs..

It’s nothing to do with firefox or winamp…That looks like a hardware fault…

Thanks for replies, i believe i found the problem, the highest resolution for my monitor is 1440×900, so what i did was create my own res. to 1400×900, and so far it hasn’t shut off on me(fingers crossed), hope that helps you too . I think i’ll wait awhile, before i get too happy, lol.

my resolution is 1024X768
and btw it happens only in windows because i have ubuntu dual booted and it never happend there.
