help increasing video audio

hi i got some videos that have low audio wht i want to do is increase the video audio without making the audio sone not good and with changing the file size can any one tel me good program to use and ones that are easy
i was thinking about using virtuak dub but i cna not seem to get the file szie back to the orgianl size’

I use sony vegas. You can import your video file then it split it in thwo parts (audio and video) so you can increase the audio

to do it in virtual dub, you have to set compression, otherwise it will save it uncompressed.
it would probably be easier to use a good player and/or audio filter that would let you boost the audio as you play the file. i use Media Player Classic with AC3 Filter to decode most audio streams – it offers excellent normalization controls, and can boost low audio tracks without changing ones that don’t need to be changed.

use AVIdemux or virtualdub
set the video to “copy” and use MP3 and re-compress the audio using the next higher bit rate than the original
