[SOLVED] video extension conversion ..

I downloaded some music videos today .. they are all .VOB .. i got many programs to convert them to .AVI but i got a problem .. when i convert them i cant play the videos as a data video on my dvd player..
after converting i can play fine on PC , but the videos are not loading on dvd player .. do any of you know what to do?

yeah .. DivX , mpeg4 , mp3 , mp4 , USB.

Two things I can think of:
1) not all avi is divx – avi is a container format and the sub format can be avi, divx, mkv, h264, etc – maybe yours are in the wrong format.
2) maybe your divx player is sensitive to TYPE of divx (version 3/4/5/6/7) or the movie size (I know mine is ok with most versions, but HAS to have exact movie sizes (720×576, pal/ntsc sizes, 640×480, etc), it dies on converted online flv (408×288, etc) unless I resize to a “proper” resolution.

i found a app, converted the .VOB file to .MPG .. its playing fine on my dvd player now .. the quality is not the same .. but its watchable.

Nah, don’t do that – vob IS mpeg, standard dvd format. you can just right the files to a dvd and they’ll play OK – I thought you had a reason to convert them to divx (space, maybe).
