Video Conversion

August 8th, 2016

Hi all,
Over the years I have built up quite a collection films on my PC of which some are 3D and are in various file formats. I would like to convert all to one format so that I can put them on a portable HDD to plug into the TV.
Some don’t play at all whilst some do but without sound and others work fine.
Any ideas on what I can use to covert them . Using Kingsoft at the moment but is taking it’s time!
Thanks in advance

conversion mainly depends on the speed of your CPU.

It would be quicker and easier to get yourself a media player rather than relying on your tv which often provide poor media support. Why waste so much time converting when media players are fairly cheap.

Ebay offers plenty of Media Players..Eg..

I use an external drive/s myself for everything.(including connected to TV)
I use VLC player.. and it does not matter what codec it is and it will play it.
Plus if u really want to convert all files to one .. I have found this to be very effective.

I use a WD media center and WD passport and can play any format on my tv try that.
If not and you wanna take the time there are programs like MKVToolnix to convert them into a MKV file.
