Answer #1
don’t bother overcloking it since u have a stock fan
u’ll overheat it

But soo Many ppl Overclock wiz stock fans
Even to 2.8 ?

well, with my stock fan in my core 2 duo i overclocked from 2.66Ghz to 2.80Ghz and the temps were a bit high..
if u want to go for 3.0Ghz you should buy a new cooler. they’re not that expensive.. so it should be np for ya i guess.
if u cant afford a new cooler, try to overclock just a little bit at a time, and check the temps during the process.
if u want steps to overclock u should state which BIOS u have..

u mean the one when i turn up the pc? Its Intel

the one at the post screen.
where all ur PC details appear with grey letters.
like:

this one is american megatrends aka AMIBios.
u have “award” bios, and “phoenix” and whatnot.
to help in any of ur doubts.

in my bios i only increased the multiplier, and then increased the cpu “frequency”
350(frequency) x 8(multiplier) = 2800(2.80Ghz) for e.g.

here it is
Thanks

I have the same processor and your bios screen looks like mine, so this thread is good for two people
Answer #8
go to “advanced” and search for the CPU frequency. and multiplier.. u should be able to put the multiplier manualy, and then just do the math, CPU Frequency x Multiplier = processor speed.
if i were u, i would increase 5/10 frequency at a time, and go monitor the CPU temps, if they’r ok, keep increasing, until the temps reach like 40C idle. or something.. if ur temps go too high while under full load, decrease the OC.
its easy to understand, just read around some guides if u wish.

there’s loads of them. some BIOS are different from another ones, so be careful what u change. before changing Voltages and whatnot, try to read a little bit more about it, just so ur system doesnt get unstable.
Answer #9
as long as each core stays under 60 degrees its safe according to intel 65 warn 70 hot
Answer #10
Download CPU-Z
Take screenshots of each tab and post here.
