Having a Static (unique IP) from l2tp…

hello everyone… i have an internet connection from an IP that is used not only by me but from different users… with my ip, so i’m not able to do port forward
my router support l2tp pptp WAN protocoll …. if i have an username-password and connect, would i be able to connect and do port forward?
or is there any other chance?

Looking doubtful with the information you provided.
It don’t matter how many users your IP is shred by, you can still port forward.
I hope that user/pass you have is for your router, because you will need to log into the router interface, head to the section (usually called NAT) or port forwarding and forward the desired ports over to your local IP.
I do recommend setting up a static IP on your computer first. Just Google this for what ever OS you have, since I don’t know, its super easy.

If your router can support a l2tp over IPsec vpn then you don’t need to point to an internal vpn server otherwise consider using SSTP which dosnt need client certificates for every device just the vpn server making it much easier to setup and you only need to forward port 443.
It doesn’t matter if you’ve got a dynamic ip as long as you use a dynamic dns service

But does it have a hardware VPN module NO IPSec passthrough: yes      L2TP  L2TP passthrough: yes      PPTP  PPTP passthrough: yes   
That’s fairly useless. your going to have to setup a vpn server on your internal lan and leave it on 24/7 or replace the router with some cisco gear

i used to have a cisco but it sucks… really, i turned it back, and the store doesn’t have another one to give me, sot they gave me money… really bad…. slow, wireless speed was half… used to restart itself… bleeww

By cisco I mean enterprise grear not the rubbish Linksys stuff and its a PITA to get l2tp over IPsec to work on them they use their own vpn which is secure but needs their client installed on every computer.
So its either get one of those or setup a home server.
