Need Help Deciding Best PSU

CPU – AMD FX 8350
Motherboard – Asus Sabertooth 990 R2
GPU – Zotac 650 Ti 1GB DDR5 Syengy Edition
Cooler – Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO
SSD – Silicon Power S70 120GB SATA III
RAM – Corsair Vengeance 8 GB (2 x 4 GB) DDR3 1600 MHz
Monitor – Dell @ 1600 x 900.
PSU – Corsair VS550
Cabinet – Coolermaster Mid Twoer
Will Upgrade GPU & Cabinet – Cabinet has less space + Dont hold PSU Properly
Budget – $300-$400
I have thought to buy 960 GTX 2 GB as its future proof to some extent, or R9 270x 4 GB as future games are requiring more RAM. But confused what to buy …

A R9 290x or a GTX 970 is a better purchase. I was using a R9 270x is January last year, so its quite old. 290X on the other hand is at good value at this time as there is global overstock.
If you had the PSU for 5 years or more, its time to upgrade.
FSP makes some affordable Aurum power supplies that are rather good.

You can get a much better gpu and psu with that budget
Get a gtx 970 (since they got support the the newest directx) and a 650w psu to go with it

PSU can be the most important piece of your comp… Id throw in a few more dollars and at least get an 800 watt PSU… To be honest there not that pricey…
