Windows xp sp3 download help

hi, im new to all this, i recently downloaded windows xp sp3 from here, i have unzipped it, in the description it has a how to… it says to burn image to disk, but i cant figure out how or what to do, i have the programs to do it, but what do i need to burn?

Usually there is a .ISO file which you burn to a CD/DVD. ImgBurn is a good app for that.

The whole file…you should’ve downloaded an ISO only…
Maybe you shouldn’t unzip it. What is the original extension of the file?

hey, still having trouble, the files i downloaded, it was a 6 part, but they all seem to be the same, i have tried putting them all on 1 disc and cannot, and if i just put one on it and put it on my latop it says no bootable disk in drive, if i load the laptop up, it does allow me to run the disc, but i dont know if it has all the files on it, as its only got 1 part from the download on. any ideas?

If I understand the ISO is in 6 parts right? Open part 1 with winrar and extract the ISO to a folder. Only after the extraction is completed, you proceed to burn the ISO into a CD/DVD to make it bootable.

i have done that, i have extracted part 1-6 to a folder, but i can only put one file on a disc. it wont let me put all 6 parts on. even thought the disc is big enough.
i have put part 1 onto a disc, put in in my laptop cd drive, but it says there is no bootable disc in the drive
i can run the part 1 through the laptop when windows vista is loaded, but i dont know if it will have everything on there needed, as the ISO is 6 parts,

Sorry I’m not following anymore. You are making a confusion. You don’t have to burn 6 parts to a CD all you have to do is burn the ISO that is only ONE file after you extract the 6 parts.
Post a screenshot of the files.

when i extract one part in a folder it’s called VRMPVOL_ENG which is a ISO file. once i have extracted all the 6 parts, it has the same folder name just with (1) (2) (3) (4) and (5) next to it, all the items in the the 6 different parts seem to be the same, if i extract the 6 differnt parts, but choose to replace existing files, no difference is made, so i would say all 6 parts are the same file. i hope that makes a bit more sense.

That’s all you need..All the 6 parts extract to one single iso file..
Once you extracted the iso you have no more use for the 6 parts unless if you want to keep them for backup purpose..
If the iso is bootable make sure you burn as image..

just go to your part 1 file, right click on it and go to extract all, and that will form an iso file for you to burn to disk

right no matter what i tried with that first windows xp sp3 download it wouldnt work, i have found another download, that following what you said to do first Khozik it seems to have worked, it has booted up and is in the middle of the setup so fingers crossed it will work, thats to all of you who have comented and helped me with this, very muchly appriciated,

how to burn this delete anything youve extracted and start from scartch right click on PART 1 click extrct here it should give you a single iso file then burn that file using your burning program nero or imgburn are good you should then have it burnt and bootable xp iso
