Windows Reinstall

I have a disk that can reinstall windows. If i do this will it wipe out everything and start me fresh? I have a lot of viruses and i think this would help.

If u have the BOOTABLE Windows XP or Vista Cd u can Do fast format the most files will still be on hard drive then or will be invisible If u Just do format it will take about 20 -30 min then it will DELETE all youre files , make sure u backup youre Importent files …

Hmm, I looked at youre other toppic , I will stronly RECOMMED u to TOTAL format ur pc If u dont know how,
I tell u :p First what u need to do & have
(THIS IS FOR XP ) Vista is the same way Bud Much Easyer
What u need to have is 1: A Bootable WINDOWS CD any kind what u want
2: Motherboard DRIVERS ( IMPORTENT!!!) If u dont have it u wont be able to get on the internet u need the drivers to install youre NETWORK device
Install:
PRINT THIS TEXT WHAT I WILL SAY ITS EASYER FOR LATER WHEN U SHUT DOWN UR PC …
1.U log off youre pc
2. u turn on youre pc and u press DEL keep pressing it UNTILL u get a Blue screen ( BIOS ) if ur in it , u go to boot Menu u will see a line Like this
1st Boot Device
2th Boot Device
3th Boot Device
The first 1 shall be normaly Hard disk press page up to change & change it to CDROM drive if its done u save & exit then u put youre CDROM and restart youre pc
3.after u restart ur pc and wait for 10 -30 sec u will see a line that call
Press any key to start up install disc of windows….
Just press a key , now this will take like 2 – 5 min to load youre cd & Hardware if its loaded u agree the licents of Microsoft
4. after that u choose the HDD u want and click on it then u DELETE the partion , After u deleted it u just click on and u will see Format Hard disk u click Yes, this will take 10 – 30 minutes , depends what HDD u got the larger the HDD the more time u need
5. after format it will AUTOMATIC install windows 6. when its don you go back to BIOS and you change back youre BOOTDEVICE to Hard disk 7. U just start up back ur pc 8. U put in youre Motherboard CD and u install all the drivers u need USB2.0 Is not a need…
9. If u use a Graphic Card U need to download 1 asswel If u use ATI Go To : http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html
If u use NVIDIA go to : http://www.nvidia.com/Download/index.aspx?lang=en-us

When i put the disk in it says “Reinstall Windows XP”. I dont really have any important files so if i do this will it just set it to factory default?

PS , U wont be able to install WINDOWS if u are on youre HDD u need to go to bios like i said here above and change the bootable device to cdrom

well , if u baught youre pc , u should get a CD whit it for youre motherboard i hope u got that because u need it

Nevermind i googled it … Gateway Operating System: its for internet so its fine
So just do it what i say above here…. and then youre pc is back clean PS, What windows ure installing XP or Vista?
