Win8 or Win10? what is the best

January 29th, 2020

How are you?
It kinda of a dilemma to switch OS.
I run Win 7 ultimate sp1. My worstation is built for live streaming, video editing, 3D rendering
Looking to upgrade OS for my first SSD but I dont know which of these two little guys would be the best…Windows 8 or 10? Is it stable, any install troubles, bugs, new interface that wouldn’t be easy to navigate, as I read. Does it really run faster than Win7?
Or should I stick with Win7? Can you give me your thoughts or advice about it. Thanks

There is no best..It’s what’s comfortable for you..
Windows 7 or Windows 10…Not so sure about that Windows 8…
The best way is to install one at the time and test which is good for you..
Answer #6

Classic shell is cool cuz it seems to bring back some functionality from W7
I appreciate your time
Answer #7
My choice. In this order: Win10 – Win7 – Win8

Yep, if it does what you want, don’t change it Maybe Win 10 in the future when it’s had a few more service packs…Oops.
Not allowed to say that!…I mean updates..

This Start Menu is hard to understand?

Mr Cox, you can remove all the buttons on the right if that is Win 10. Mine just has the bits on the left, but half as much, and above it, most used programs.

Win 7

It is Windows 10. I unpinned all the items on the right and pinned in the apps I mostly use to keep my desktop clear and my taskbar clean. As for the Menu to the left, add them in Setting/Personalize/Start. Use the “Choose which folders appear on Start” link to add the ones you want.
Plus you can right mouse click on Start button to get the Power User shortcuts to various parts on Windows 10 without too much clicking.
Answer #14
Exactly, so you can have it as you please, and no longer “hard to understand”. Almost like Win 7.
Answer #15
There is a nice little trick which you can do (for Win 8), you can use the Classic start Menu program and set the mouse click to the previous menu and the Win button to the Start Screen, for example. That way you can use both options effectively and also use touch features if available.

Yes you can have it as you want. Windows 10 is the easiest OS from Microsoft so far. Plus it will speed a computer up.
Answer #17
thank for the feed back to you all.
I guess Ill keep working with WIn7 and experiment with Win10 hoping I can tweak it to my taste
Answer #18
Windows 10 is faster and better than Windows 7 but you’ve gotta tweak it.

tx for the tips
Answer #21
win10 is not that bad… even without the classicshell….i like it few software like wirecast and Adobe MC CS6 are not compatible.. i will have to wait!!!
Answer #22
Windows 8.1 vs Windows vs each other without any tweaks done to either, 8.1 is faster.
Saying that, if you tweak 10 and change some stuff, that can be fast too.
Answer #23
Dont know about win8 but win10 loads mozilla v.45 pages and medias twice as fast than w7. No need for flash player either on win10!!
I have easily tweaked few things, stopped some services and my memory load is 1.3gb, 53 processes at boot up…pretty cool I think

what services you stopped to gain speed and memory? here are the guys saying ” some tweaks ” / ” some settings ” / ” some changes ” but no one guide which settings to done or services to stop which are useless… can you please help people here how to tweak Win10 or is there any build like ” Win 7 Aero Blue Lite Edition ” of Win10 ? regards.

Keep Windows 7. And if the game makers, don’t wanna make the game up for Windows 7,
That’s bad luck for them. Here are still MILLIONS of windows 7 users.
From another friend, Nothing than complains about Windows 10.
Software compatible stuff and so.
It’s all RUBBISH, to get you’re money.
8-9-10, ABNORMAL FAST, after each-other.
Just like VISTA.
Only 2 descent programs: Windows XP and Windows 7

Most problems people face on any operating system are user errors.. If your a dumbass, dont upgrade because you might have a slight problem a child could fix, but you cant! Unconventionally that simple.. Win 10 is great, and much like 7, +DX12!
Answer #29
Sorry, it seems I can’t even EDIT my message here above …
I wanna see: COMPANIES, using Windows 10, with all these crashes and stuff.
Calling every 5 minutes, a technic guy.
hahahhaa, that would be so FUN.
