ya.. it’ll play..
but 2.3ghz wont be enuf to max out the settings of most of the recent releases..
other than the processor its a good config..
still u can use this laptop to play all the games in medium settings..

im using acer travelomate 5742G i5, ati 6300m. can this pc be tweak to play games smoothly?

To break it down:
Graphics – the 540 is great (I have one in my lappy – it does very well).
8G ram – good, not the overload of 16, more headroom than 4G.
Hard drive – 640 is good, not super great, but certainly adequate.
BUT…
Intel Core i3-2350M (2.3GHz) – Oh dear.. that’s the weakest point of the lappy – this cpu will cause you to drop quality to medium on most of the newer games. An i5 will make things better, and i7 will pretty much kill the modern games at that screen resolution.
For that price, £650, I got an Acer 5750, i7, 8G, gt540, 640G – it’s the same BUT for the cpu, and it WILL show in apps and games.
I agree with Fluffbutt. With that CPU you will get into some trouble to run newer games.
