Wii 4.2U Softmod issue

just purchased a Wii and it came running the latest 4.2U version. i’ve been trying to load the bannerbomb softmod onto it but every time i insert my SD Card into the Wii it just says “the device inserted into the SD Card slot cannot be used.” i’ve tried another SD Card made by a different manufacturer and it’s the same result. i’ve tried formatting them as FAT16 and FAT3. they are both 2GB sticks.
is this a problem with the SD Cards or is it an issue with the way i’m A) formatting it, or B) the mod i’m using.
one SD Card is a DANE-ELEC (whatever the hell that is). my other SD Card is SanDisk.
any help would be great.

try not inserting it before you start the wii..click the sd card button and then when it says no card insert card or whatever.. then insert it…..
might help… might not…. i used the tutorial on this site by searching usb loader gx…. and it worked fine.. but i remember something about that…. Cheers

how are you formatting it? the windows formatter sucks.
