Which graphics card is better?

August 3rd, 2013

Hi,
I’m just about choosing between a HP Pavilion DV7-4139eo with an AMD Radeon HD5470 graphics card
and a Toshiba Satellite L775-139 with an NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 525M.
How would I compare these two graphics cards? Which is better?
What other components do I need to take into consideration?
Thanks a lot in advance! All help is more than appreciated.

Answer #1
AMD Radeon HD5470 if the processor is AMD but if its intel choose NVIDIA Geforce GT 525M
Answer #2
They are not really going to help you game anyway. I’d take the Nvidia though since the notebook will likely come with Optimus.

I don’t get it, what does AMD and nVidia have anything to do with the type of CPU?

Toshiba Satellite L775-139 with an NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 525M its my opinion.
Answer #5
NVIDIA® GeForce® GT 525M imo

Take a look on the following website. It has a hierarchy chart for graphic cards (and you can see the test scores in fps if you fancy that).
As you will see, the 525M is ‘way’ better than the 5470.

Yes and no. A lot of the 800 and 900 series chipsets for AMD boards are XFire compatible, but NOT SLI.
In some cases there is a reason to get AMD GPU with an AMD CPU, but I do not think that applies here.

Exactly I thought so, I say the nVidia one is better.
