Which Graphic Card Manf. is Better ATI, GIGABYTE OR EVGA

August 25th, 2013

I am planning to buy “GIGABYTE GV-N430-2GI” and I want to know your review about this card.
My Rig is:
Intel DG33FB
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz
Ram 3 GB DDR-II
PSU: Cooler Master 460W
Currently I am using XFX Nvidia Geforce GT240 DDR-III – 1GB Graphic Card and now planning to move on new one just to use DX11 Technology as GT240 support DX10.
I try to buy XFX Nvidia Geforce GT430 but its not available here nor its available at XFX website.
The available card is “GIGABYTE GV-N430-2GI” which support DirectX11, Physx, Cuda and 3D. but I am not familiar with GIGABYTE. So I want to know your review about this card. One more thing its in my Range.
However, I need your views about other Cards Manufacturer i.e. ATI, EVGA ETC…. ETC……
Awaiting your replies asap.

Answer #1
Its not much of an upgrade, the cheapest Nvidia card you would buy will be a GTX 460.
That’s old so get a GTX 560.
It would be a good idea to upgrade your other parts as well.

I am also thinking about upgrade but problem is that now a days prices of computer parts / accessories are very high in our country. So cannot upgrade other parts right now.
MY GT240 is running well and I am playing all new games on high & ultra settings except BF3.
So just tell me your views about this card and Gigabye GT450 1GB. These cards are in my range.
Answer #3
i would save a bit more and get a better card.
Answer #4
Right now the best performance for your $ would be a GTX 460 1GB or HD 6850; either will about double your FPS (assuming your other components are up to the task) BUT will draw 2x the power. NEED a 500W name brand or 680W off-brand to power it.

Avoid GIGABYTE
Reason: Because I have GIGABYTE GTX 460 760mb and 1 year later it died on me. I never look back at gigabyte brand. I’m getting EVGA as I heard alot of good things about EVGA, and they also offer lifetime warranty if you have any problem with video card you can always get it replaced and sometime they offer to give you new video card for same price for what you paid from previous years (eg. 430 cost $280, and the newer card cost $280 say 560 ti for example, they would offer that)
Your choice really, I’m here just to tell you what I experienced with my gigabyte videocard and will never look at their brand ever again.
Answer #6
be careful with xfx if you choose another card from them, they are not known for having the best drivers and heat dissipation.
Answer #7
Ati is not a manufacture of Vgas but sapphire makes some good ati cards
For nvidia chipsets :Palit , Evga
Asus & gygabyte are below that but for the right price they’ll deliver decent cards.
Answer #8
Your problem is you are going to be buying a card that wont be worth changing to.
If you want a card that is faster than your current one and will allow you to turn on the dx11 effects in todays games without making them unplayable then you will need a slightly better but more expensive card.
What resolution do you game at?

Just stop posting in topics you don’t know anything about. like computers.
It would be better if you did not post at all.
I will back any complaint to have you removed so you can not try sabotage this section any more.

Thanks to all of you but still can’t understand which one should I buy. Now I added poll to decide.
My range is $ 100 – $120/-
Advise me a good card with Model Number. So I may decide.
One more request please do not fight with each other. Just ignore comments if you don’t like as here I am asking for your help not to fight with each other. Hope you guys don’t mind.

With your budget limit, you should squeeze for one of these.
Any brand that makes a 6770 will do since they come with warranties.
Dud video cards happen all the time, sometimes you might get one.
A rma is all you need.
Those guys never calm down.

By your logic a 3.4GHz Pentium 4 should be faster than an i5 2500K at 3.3GHz.

-paroxysM^ replied: By your logic a 3.4GHz Pentium 4 should be faster than an i5 2500K at 3.3GHz.An I5 is a multicore cpu &but the vga has one gpu although you can find 2x cards where you get 2 cards in one pcie slot!

yep, cant get much better then a lifetime warranty and i second the 6770 for a 100-120 budget range

So a athlon ii x4 @ 3.6ghz 4 cores is faster than a i5 2500k @ 3.3ghz. 4 cores….
And GPU only has 1 core yes?
Stop trolling the helpdesk with your rubbish.
Answer #22
Asus is probably the one I recommend, with their non-reference coolers.
MSI’s twin frozr editions should also be looked at.
Answer #23
Multi-core processors are just processors with more than 1 processing core in a package. The frequency, usually, will be the same for all cores – so a 2 GHz Quad core processor has 4 cores running at 2 GHz (ignoring Turbo/overclocking and all such stuff).Meaning 1. 3.4GHz< i5 2500K at 3.3GHz
2. But when comparing the GPUs that’s the total speed they are designed to have it’s not calculated per core.SO I WAS CORRECT AFTER ALL!(I wasn’t talking about other features in the design of the cards)
PEACE!

Pierre_Valois replied: 2. But when comparing the GPUs that's the total speed they are designed to have it's not calculated per core.SO I WAS CORRECT AFTER ALL!(I wasn't talking about other features in the design of the cards)
So you’re saying that, a 5770 is better than a GTX 480 because the 5770 has an 850MHz core clock, and the GTX 480 has an 700MHz core clock? You see, we’d love to agree with you, but then we’d all be wrong.
On-topic, brand-wise, choose the brand with the longest warranty and has an RMA department near you. If there isn’t an RMA department near you, choose the brand with the longest warranty that also applies to your country.
Answer #25
HIS …… EVGA …
For your price Range
HD 6770
If you can add 20 dollars more then i suggest you get HD 6850 >> Awesome CARD
Answer #26
You two guys will not calm down. Anyway, I got the result as according to poll:
ATI 40%
EVGA 40%
GIGABYTE 20%
So Now I am checking which cards are available in ATI & EVGA in my City and I will but it. Thx alot for your help. I will definitely inform you guys when I will buy.
Answer #27
I Second HD6770.
Perhaps check out the XFX HD6770 DDR5 1GB it’s a Decent card,
although not sure about gaming using it in my HTPC.
Answer #28
I noticed that XFX ATI cards not supports Physx and Cuda as its only support Dx11 and 3dVision but you must install Nvidia Physx to run games correctly with ATI Cards.
Whereas Gigabyte Geforce cards supports Dx11, Physx, Cuda and 3DVision.
So what you say guys should I go for GIGABYTE or still you prefer XFX ATI.
Besides all still my first priority is Nvidia Geforce Cards but seems its not available in my country and now everybody selling only ATI, EVGA and GIGABYTE. Seriously I am bit confused as when I start gaming I bought XFX Nvidia Geforce 8500GT and I used it for 2 years and then I bought XFX Nvidia Geforce GT240 1GB, which I am still using without any single problem as its support with all games & applications even when others faces problem with new game and waiting for Driver patch, I plays game at the same time like Rage. I played “Rage” without any tweak and update as well as without Driver Update whereas others waiting for Update driver to play this huge game.
Anyway, above is purely my personal experience and its doesn’t mean to hurt anybody as its only a matter of peace of mind as well as like & dislike.
Answer #29
I don’t expect Cuda to be useful unless you do some video conversion (its horrible at it) and maybe some scientific simulation.
How many Physx games are there?
If you would spend your time gazing at the details, you might be shot/lose while in-game.
Your mentioning Nvidia GPU’s, EVGA simply makes the board for the chips just like any other campany.
I think they have 3D names differently.
DX11, only a selected few can afford to cough up enough frame rates.

I never said it was better that …or faster than I just posted the speeds of the gpu(Engine Clock) & I mentioned it’s the total speed & not calculated per core like some cpus are .When comparing cards other features are also looked at like :Memory Interface,Stream Processors etc.
So in the price range I would buy the hd 6790.Or I would save some money & buy a 6870.I also found a gtx 560 at £127=198.88$!
I also found these cheap cards: hd 6870 & gtx 560 under 115£=180.09$
