July 28th, 2013

I am planning to buy New Graphic Card and I selected two Cards. Guys advise me which one is good to buy:
1) GV-N430-2GI
or
2) GV-N460OC-1GI
You can check details at below site:
http://www.gigabyte.com
My Current System configuration is:
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz
2GB RAM
550 GB HDD (320 GB + 250 GB)
Window 7 Ultimate x86 N Edition
Currently using Nvidia XFX Geforce GT240 1GB - DDR-II
600Watt PSU

Looking forward to your replies / suggestion.

Answer #1
The GV-N460OC-1GI Would be better because it has GDDR5
i would get a MSI N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II/OC Graphics card – 1 GB – GDDR5 SDRAM its about £20-30 above the 460 but thats better.
Hope this helps
Answer #2
I would also say GV-N460OC-1GI
Answer #3
Thanks and I will go with GV-N460OC-1GI
Answer #4
I had a similar 460, overclock version, different brand – bat-~love~-hot card too (not hot as in heat..)

Bad Luck. Local Dealer informed that GT460 is out of Stock. Now they have available only two cards (in my range as below:
GT430 2GB – 128 BIT DDR3
GT450 1GB – 128 BIT DDR3
Guide me which one to buy.
I prefer to buy GT430 – 2GB, at least avail 2 GB Ram.
However, give me your advise. Need your reply urgently before these cards also disappear.

Just an observation…
Of course, you should go with your own personal preference, but… don’t just base it on RAM.
You also need to look at Core Clock speed, Memory clock speed and Memory Transfer Rate. Look at the specs on the boxes of both the 430 and 450 and compare them. If they are fairly similar, then the extra RAM might be the deciding factor. If the speed and transfer rates are significantly different, you might want to make more enquiries about which card would be a better fit for your type of PC use.
Or you could wait until the 460 comes into stock again.
Answer #7
The name itself suggests it. The GTX 460 beats a GT430. Even if the GTX 460 is a 768 MB version, SOC edition, 1GB version,
it beats the GT 430 by a mile.
The difference is pretty substantial. In the case of BFBC2 your looking at a 60%+ performance advantage with the GTX 460. That’s just one example.
Answer #8
Thanks ARFARSH! you are suggest me to go with GT460 but now only GT430 and GT450 is available.
What to do now? below is the Comparison chart. Decide what is worth to buy.

Answer #9
Wow, that’s tough call when looking at those specs!
450 has better chip performance, but the 430 has more RAM.
450 draws more power and does not have a D-sub connector (if that is what your monitor uses).
Honestly, if you just want the card for general PC use and a bit of gaming, then either of those cards should be fine.
If it really is critical that you find the best possible performance in your price range, I would have to go with what I said earlier, and what A r f a r s H also said, which is: think again about the 460. It might not be in stock with that supplier now, but what about in a week or two? Or maybe another supplier looking to give you a great deal on a 460?
Are you pressuring yourself to buy quickly, or is the vendor pressuring you? If you miss this ‘great’ deal, there is a chance that another card will become available, perhaps with better specs at a better price!
Think about what you would be comfortable using for the next couple of years, and go with that choice.

msidoh! The GT460 is not available and here is only one official dealer in my city of gigabyte.
There is no pressure on me but I know if I will wait for Cards then don’t know when it will come as well as not sure dealer will import GT460 again. That’s why I cannot decide what to do or not.
Anyway, I am now trying to contact dealer in another city and see what comes. I will post about out come.
Answer #11
Run Heaven or 3DMark 11 with each card.
Or play Metro 2033 with DX11 settings enabled.
Anyway the difference is a LOT, and statistically its 105 percent. Meaning the GTS 450 is over 2 times better than the GT 430.
Answer #12
ARFARSH bro said it all. There’s another thing to remember, ddr5 cards are twice as better than ddr3 cards. Memory space 1gb/2gb really doesn’t matter that much, you should look at memory bandwidth, core clock. Try to buy new generation 5xx cards, they are better than their 4xx counter parts.
Answer #13
I own the GV-N460OC-1GI. For its price its a great card , I can run BF3 on all high no problem’s at 1080 and max settings on Skyrim at the same resolution. I purchased it a year ago and its still going as good as the day I got it. I did have troubles with it being overclocked at 900mhz , it was possibly the Aussie heat or my power supply that was causing the problem. I dropped it back to default core clocks 822mhz and have had no problems since.

Thanks to all of you guys for helping me out. Today finally I bought Gigabyte GTX 550 – 1GB DDR5 Card – 192bit. You can check comparison as below:

I am sure that I bought right thing. isn’t?
Further, I have Power Supply “Octigen 500W (149898PSOTG)”. Please tell me if this is OK to use with that Card. Actually I don’t know what is the exact output of this Power Supply though Sticker showing output is 500Watts but you know its not happen with all power supply like Cooler Master.
Further, is there anyway to check how much WATTS Power Supply giving?
Answer #15
For a system with a single GeForce GTX 550 NVIDIA recommends a minimum of a 400 Watt or greater power supply with a minimum +12 Volt continuous current rating of 24 Amps or greater and with at least one 6-pin PCI Express supplementary power connector.
Select from reputable name brands like Antec, Corsair, Seasonic and XFX and you will be ensured that the all important +12 Volt continuous current rating requirement is met.
Answer #16
Congrats, cyber_flame! I think you will be happy with that card

Thank you Arfarsh for your quick reply. However, If I go with Antech EA-500D GREEN then it will cost me around US$ 67/- and now I have no more money to buy this PUS.
However, my friend is giving me PSU of Octigen 500W (149898PSOTG) “38A”, which they got out from a U.S.A Branded System.
Please advise me if this supply is compatible with this Card? I try to Google but cannot understand that Ampere/Voltage Calculation. Will you help me in this matter.

Many thanks for your reply. My system specs as below:
Intel DG33FB
Core 2 Duo 2.2 Ghz
3 GB RAM
250 GB + 320 GB (2 HDDs SATA)
22x SUPER MULTI DVD WRITER
Gigabyte Nvidia GTX 550Ti 1GB-DDR5-192Bit Card
Now tell me is this PSU good to handle this system or need more than 500Watts PSU.
