sorry but you cannot possiby ask a question like this when there are over 25,000 vehicles in your price range…plus we dont know your country and from the USA and I dont even know WTF a Vauxhall is (im kidding but we dont have those here) buy what you want everyone would recommend something any car company/vehicle/model could have a lemon or be reliable but something that looks good and is in your price range

Close, however a Toyota Vitz is a better choice, cheap to repair and simple as hell.

Affordable. The Germans make the best cars in the world.

Have to agree with the Japanese have been leading the way in the small car sector for a while now,service history is everything does not need to be dealer history reputable garages are just as good but a big pile of receipts is nice to see.Here’s a link to the Parkers website very reliable information before the days of tinternet all the car dealers had one of the guides in their pockethttp://www.parkers.co.uk/

Lmao Beamers are a piece of ~love~. Too many problems. And don’t get me started on Hondas. Stick with Toyota, Subaru or Volvo for beginner cars. They are very reliable and good on gas. Personally I think a Volvo S40 would be perfect.

Go for the Ford KA. Cheap to buy, cheap to run, cheap to insure. The Vauxhall with 84k miles will need a new cambelt and water pump soon.

Vauxhall = General Motors.
@OP – if you are in the UK (as your post suggests) just buy the crappiest car to use for the first couple of years, your insurance will be more than the car costs.
