Where can I buy a modded slimline PS2?

I’ve got a 6 year old ‘phat’ PS2 that is dying on me. I’m pretty sure it’s just that the laser needs replacing, but it’s also modded, and the modchip is quite old and doesn’t always boot backups first time and doesn’t make the console region free.
So I’ve decided to flog it and buy myself a nice new slim PSTwo, modded with a decent modchip that direct boots all media and makes the console region free.
But I can’t find one anywhere! I use eBay a lot, but you can’t sell modchips on there because of their dubious legality. I repair and mod a lot of original Xboxes and 360s, and I’m a member of the xbox-scene forums where there’s a really good Buy/Sell/Trade section where you can easily deal in modded Xboxes, but I haven’t found a good PS2 equivalent site.
So can anyone help me find one? I’d happily take a second hand one, so if you know of a good forum or other site where I can buy/trade for one, please let me know!

Yeah, like I said, I use eBay a lot. I’ve checked on there and there’s only the occasional modded PS2 (searching for terms like ‘region free’, ‘upgraded’, etc.), so it will work if I have patience. One console says it’s ‘enabled to play backups’ so I contacted one seller to ask what type of chip it has and got no reply
I did google, found a couple of websites that sell premodded consoles but they’re way expensive (over �100 more than a brand new console), and a couple of modding services that are �50-70.
But I couldn’t find any forums or anything where I could buy a second hand from someone. Guess I’ll just wait it out on eBay.
