Whats the best way to clean CPU & GPU?

August 5th, 2016

I mean for Xbox 360, under the Heatsinks, there are CPU & GPU. Its filled with Thermal Paste, so i was wondering whats the best and safe way to clean it. I know people use Rubbing Alcohol but i heard if you spill it too much it will f*** your Xbox up, and also it can burn skin Any good ways to clean, i mean what safe product should i use?

The best way is to use ‘Isopropyl rubbing alcohol’. Apply it using a cotton bud (q tip) and use as little as possible. If you wait a couple of minutes I’ll upload a tutorial that shows you with pictures…

I find getting an AIR Duster, they are cheap and hella effective for dust.
And if you cant get your hands on that alchohol, vodka has more reasons than one.
Answer #4
yeah just get compressed air can, blow the dust away
Answer #5
He’s not talking about the dust, he’s talking about the thermal paste that attaches the heatsinks to the CPU/GPU.
Why do people on this board have such a hard time reading?
OP: Rubbing alcohol will only get you so far. If you want to get these bad boys squeeky clean, I highly suggest using Goo Gone. It works wonders.

all the suggestions mentioned so far should work fine but I have used razor blades before and they seem to do just fine too.
