I would change a lot of parts from there. Processor/PSU/Motherboard/Case fans
Please hold I’ll come up with something in a bit
why floppy?
So he can flash his BIOS etc.
Looks good, might want to change certain things if it’s for gaming:
HD 4850 is better – but the 4670 is still actually good =)
Rather get a Pioneer 216BK
Get a better Power Supply, with less wattage – That power supply is complete overkill and one of the most favourable brands. I’d rather suggest something like a Corsair HX 520 or an Antec EarthWatts 500w.
The motherboard is using a G45 chipset, which is pretty crap TBH. Get something with a P45 chipset, the Gigabyte P45-DS3L is a great buy.
If you decide to change the motherboard, you’d have to get DDR2 ram, which is not bad, because there’s almost no difference in performance =)
Ok this is what i got, its two parts since it is a bit too big:
Uber Leet you forgot the motherboard
I made something as well
So he can flash his BIOS etc.
I don’t even remember the time you used a floppy for BIOS flashing.
I would take out the Floppy drive if I were him but meh it’s his system
yea go with the changes from what the people above have said, btu beside that its a good computer wouldnt mind myself getting on of those to be honest
Uber Leet you forgot the motherboard
its in there, 2nd pic above the cpu. Just didnt show a pic for it
Oh ok. You should use something like FastStone Capture to take screenshots of scrolling pages. It’s easier
ok thanks and anymore input is welcome but in order to take advantage of the PCI-e 2.0 don’t u have to have a motherboard that can run it and also remember this computer if for media as well such as downloading uploading watching and things like that and it’s the q9300 that much better than the q6600 to spend that much more money?
Yes a Q9 is better than a Q6. Don’t even thing about the Q8. Q8s are crappy processors
There’s no difference in a single card performance with PCI-E and PCI-E 2.0 as of current cards. I spent less on the motherboard and got you parts that would give you higher performance like some CL4 PC2-6400 RAM. CL5 PC2-6400 is crap imo RAM (like the G.Skill in AzN’s list)
Ok and I was under the impression that u had to use ddr3 ram to use a ddr3 graphics card and also u had to have a motherboard that could run the fbs of everything like ur CPU ram and. Graphics card should be the same speed or everything is going to run the speed of ur slowest component
The graphics card memory has nothing to do with the system memory. The speeds are all independant. DDR3 system memory is not worth atm. Spending as much as half of that entire system for a 20% performance increase isn’t worth
ok anything else I need to think about
no one else wants to put any input in
floppy is mainly for recovery incase it crashes…some people prefer floppy’s
Are u all sure that that power supply well run everything under a full load, I don’t need a more powerful psu
ok so if u had to decide between the q9300 or the q 9550 which one would u go with and also is the extra for the 9550 really worth it
floppy is mainly for recovery incase it crashes...some people prefer floppy's
And just how will a floppy save you from a crash?
Are u all sure that that power supply well run everything under a full load, I don't need a more powerful psu
Yes it will. You’ll probably not use even half of it most of the time
ok so if u had to decide between the q9300 or the q 9550 which one would u go with and also is the extra for the 9550 really worth it
Yes it’s a better than the Q9300 because the cache size is twice as bigger and it will overclock more. Anyway that decision is up to you. The Q9300 is also a powerful CPU
I think im going to go with the q9300 and just over clock it to 3.0Ghz and that will be more than enough for me! thanks guys
o mybad im on my friends username sorry guys
hey i have a question will that 550w power supply run two 4850’s in crossfire?
Yep it says Crossfire ready so it should be able to pull it off
ok
That PSU is overkilled. You don’t need more than 500W for that machine.
