i going to burn windows 7 to DVD
what the recommended write speed ?
4 or 8 or 6

Answer #1
for crucial stuff like an OS I would always use the lowest speed possible
Answer #2
It’s good to use slow speeds on important data – however I’m lazy and never do that.. and they still turn out perfectly well.
However yes, using a low speed for important data is better.
Answer #3
2x speed if not possible then 4x speed
Answer #4
thanks to all, i will use lowest speed
Answer #5
that is good advice
Answer #6
burn using Alcohol 120%, it automatically determines the speed.. usually, 2-4 x
Answer #7
Current gen dvd’s with brand names are designed for full sped burning (16 or 8, minimum) – the old old myth about burning at 2 or 4 speed is so out of date it’s just a waste of time.
You’re just as likely to get a bad burn from too slow a speed nowadays as you were from to fast a speed 4 years ago.
Use good quality discs, not cheap crap, burn at 8 or 16x, don’t try to over speed to 18 or 20 (even if the drive says it can..)
Answer #8
must be like me then but it still frequently proves to solve faulty burn problems, may be with old burners (again like me )
Answer #9
i use maximum allowable speed… because for crucial stuffs i always verify the disk, so whether i’m burning at lowest or highest speed I verify the compilation. and burning at highest speeds never gave me any problems…
