what is the word for this ?

what is the word for ” the one who is examined “. I googled a lot but couldnt find anything. I found a word ” examinee ” but cambridge dictionary does not find it. thanks in advance.

I don’t think there is a word. as such.
I think you have to be specific and say Pupil,Student, Candidate, Patient, witness etc..

“examinee” is perfectly acceptable English.
The Oxford English Dictionary has it listed as a derivative of “examine”

You can add “ee” to the end of some English verbs to indicate that the person is the object of that verb.

Yes, examinee appears in a couple of American dictionaries, but not the Oxford or Cambridge..

Bollocks!! ………… It all depends what the questions are ……….. If it’s just your name and address you could be right but if the questions are to do with learning a subject like history for example (even if they are just tick boxes), then it’s an examination.
