What graphics card should I get for my old PC?

March 9th, 2019

Ok, I’ve got this really old PC I bought many years back. Recently, I’ve upgraded my Ram from 512MB to 2GB DDR2, and replaced the hard disk with a new one so I’m thinking of getting a new graphics card next. Here are my system specs:
Intel Pentium D Processor 820 2.8Ghz
2X1MB L2 Cache EM64T
2GB RAM DDR2
ATI Radeon Xpress 200 256MB
640GB HDD
I’m not looking for anything too expensive because I don’t have much RAM to spare anyway. probably something that cost less than a $100. There’s a graphics card I found on amazon that looks pretty attractive
Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 PCI-Express Graphics Card 100287L

But how do i know whether it can fit into my mobo? Thanks in advance for all your help.

Answer #1
just check whether your motherboard is a PCI-E x16 or an AGP and see if the card matches that.
Answer #2
umm wouldnt the cpu bottle neck your card?
Answer #3
Motherboard is ECS RC410-M .. @bloodydemon. Not sure whether it would. what graphics card do you say I should get instead?
Answer #4
It does have a PCI-x16 slot. The 5670 should fit your motherboard. I would say go for the 5670. Its a nice card for the price.
Answer #5
5670 Smile Should work great! And no, A Pentium D wont bottleneck a 5670, it’s not that old.
Answer #6
great.. I’ll go get it then. Thank you guys for the helpful response.
