WD 1.5 TB USB HDD not showing data

Hi recently I copied around 160gb into a friend’s hdd but now I see only 18gb of my content. The rest of the data isn’t showing up and like I read on some posts here initially it asked to format the disk to use the driver but he ran checkdisk something to retrieve the data. My data seems to be there as I see from adding the sizes of the folders and the total disk space used. I want to know which tool to use to effectively recover all data .. I have tonnes of tutorials will miss them sorely

Give Diskgetor a go and remember that you must recover to a different drive..
