Wanna Upgrade my Intel Pentium [R] [SOLVED]

Hi guys well i wanna upgrade this old PC for like backup use i want u guys to tell me which thing should go better with it.
The thing it has first.
512 MB RAM.
128 VGA Card.
80 GB HDD.
3 Giga Intel Processor.
I want to upgrade this junk plz help me

my friend jus bought a pc an i think the config is pretty good
2gb RAM
nvidia 9600GT
1tb HDD(500gb Internal HDD+500gb External HDD)
intel i5 processor

not much you can do with your existing parts that would be worth doing.
buy new CPU and motherboard and ram at least.

Not worth to upgrade.
Its better to buy a new pc..
For what will the computer be used (games,photoshop,editing)?

In order to have a worthwhile upgrade for your cpu, you need a new motherboard to support it. When you need to get new ram that is compatible for your motherboard, you will need to upgrade you graphics card so it doesn’t bottleneck performance. In order to run that setup, you need a new power supply. In order to enjoy your new blazing fast computer, you need a new hard drive. In order to prevent your new system from overheating, you need a new case with fans.
In otherwords, GET A NEW PC!

@OP You need to more specific about your hardware, like 3Ghz Processor doesn’t tells anything, state the model no. etc. Btw if you are thinking about using the PC as a backup use, you definitely need more storage, a extra 1gb ram would help.
