Hey guys im facing a problem that i dont know what is the solution to it i have a smart tv which is capable to play videos , music etc through a flash drive when attached to it the only problem is that whenever i watch a movie on it even if the tv volume is up to 100 the movie is not that loud im not using any external speakers just the speakers that are built into the tv when watch the same movie on VLC i can boost the volume of the same movie up to 200 and it sounds amazing in my headphones can you tell me what im doing wrong how can i get the same movie loud the way its playing in my PC ?
Answer #1
AC3 or DTS audio on the movie?
TV’s don’t deal well with these formats and the volume is very low. Try converting just the audio portion to AAC and listen to the fixed volume!

Maybe if you chase up about your make/model of TV, you could find a firmware update or similar to fix it
if it happens with good .aac or .ac3 movies,

Try converting just the audio portion to AAC and listen to the fixed volume! That’s a strange comment since ATSC uses AC-3 as it’s audio codec. It’s useless trying to help until OP posts TV model and what DTT region of the world he lives in.
Answer #6
@: not really. Samsung TV models for example have the exact same firmware regardless of where they are being sold. Most Sony’s do as well; but but digress. AC3 can be encoded many ways. So it’s not surprising really that it can be an issue – it really depends on the file downloaded and the encoding that was used.
The issue exists as the TV tries to convert from 3+ chans down to 2 or 2.1 for example. The firmware is HORRIBLE at this.
Converter: xmedia recode. You can just copy the video portion (so no recoding required), and just recode the audio.

A quick explain of using Xmedia recode..
You can usually keep the file extension as is and change Video to “Copy” instead of “Convert”..
With the audio, select “convert” and in the left hand column click on “Volume correction”.
Now you can either set it manually or pick “Normalise” which should sort it out for you.
Down the bottom, set where you want the output.
Then go up the top and click on “Add to queue” and then you click “Encode”
And about 2 and a half minutes later (or undoubtedly less with an overclocked i7)…It should all be done .
