Voltage Input PSU/ Power Supply help

January 13th, 2019

I just got a new PSU but found out its input is
115/230V 50-60Hz 6A/4A

and i live in Australia which has a voltage input of
240 Volts, alternating at 50 cycles per second

Is there a CHEAP way of converting the power?

Answer #1
well you can try one of those travel adaptors. I did it with my P4 and it works since it came from Korea
Answer #2
does it actually change the voltage tho? and how much?
Answer #3
If you brought it from Australia it should be already set to 230V…Otherwise it should have a switch in the back that switches between 230 110 Vols…Sometimes the switch is covered by a sticker…
230V or 240 makes no difference…240V is just the pick time…
Answer #4
But just incase, caus i just got it in repair for overheating >.>, is there a way of converting the voltage?
Answer #5
Most PSU’s now have automatic switching so there should be no problem. The UK uses 240V 50Hz the same as you Aussie’s so you don’t have any problems as PSU’s are made to be universal. They don’t just make PSU’s for Aussie. lol

theres the features on my PSU, do u reckon it will switch? (not sarcastic or rhetoical)
Answer #7
That IS the correct voltage – 110/230 is standard for all psu’s, and there should be selector switch on the back – just make sure it’s set to 230v, and you’re ok for Aus use.
