Ventrilo Help

August 5th, 2016

I have successfully made a ventrilo server with VentSrv and the Ventrilo client. I can connect to it if I put localhost as the server hostname but my friend cannot. I know my IP address and he put that in for the hostname but nothing happened on his end. How does he go about connecting to my server?

Are you using a Router?
Most people Are So the answer If you are.
Windows FireWall – Open The Vent port (Thats the x.x.x.x.x:”8435″) The End Numbers. So they are Not blocked By your firewall.
Go to your router Settings – Normall Just I.E Then direct to – 192.168.1.1 / 192.168.2.1
On There Go to Virtual Firewall / Ports – And Share your Computers IP – The 192.x.x.x.x. One, To the Interner, / Open the Ports… and try again.

Yes, as said, port forwarding is the best way to let other connections into your network. Or you can try hamachi, its not the best, but it also gets the job done.
