USB problem and a BIG one :)

August 5th, 2016

so ok , my usb drive show’s under my computer but will not opet (insert device ) and than when i go under disc management it shows that the drive is not of any type (ntsf , fat etc.) and it shows the capacity of the drive to be 0 mb rather than 4gb. I can only give it a letter but can’t format or change disc type. I have used tons of programs to try to recover or low-lvl format but none seem to work.
so ? help ?

Are you talking about a USB Memory stick? Does it do this with everyone or just the 1?

New?

it’s dead. :S Same thing happened to one of mine. Unless you want to send it to get repaired the only solution would be to open it up yourself and fix it. Good luck
Answer #5
have u tried using it with a different computer or device that supports usb drives and testing if it works ? cause that once happened to me where my portable HDD didnt work on my comp but works on my win xp comp (strange i know but hey it worked).
Answer #6

Answer #8
Or could be a “fake” chinese Flash Drive… I’ve used past week one stick supposed to be 32gb but really was 128mb… And pretty sure it damaged the usb drivers and messed with the system…
Answer #9
i dont think it’s dead , what i think happend is that a hidden file got deleted on it , there should be a way to fix this.
and the people who made it dont have any softwere for it

You could solve many memory sticks problems with the HP Format Tools… Look at this: The page is in portuguese, but you can follow the pictures, they show what to do…
