My External facing a problem, big problem to me.
September 6th, 2013
Firstly, I hand my external hard disk to my friend so that he can copy files for me.
Second, I get it back, and i run it with my laptop.
Thirdly, all my folders and files or pictures or movies all became a short cut, and i couldn’t not open any single of the shortcut. BUT the memory is being consume.
So i pass my external hard disk to my friend and run it with his laptop, it still shows shortcut BUT he can access the shortcut.
Anyone out there ever face this problem or anyone able to solve this problem for me please? My external hard disk has a lot of important document of mine.
I am not sure what you actual doing. i think you Copy Files from latop and paste shortcut in external hard disk just link as
so you facing this problem. you need to click paste button.
Righr Click on the Folder
Go to Target
here u have to right the correct folder name for example
if the previous name on target in is G:\someName.exe G:CARS
then u will have to remove someName.exe G:
and click apply and ok
if the actual folder name is CARS.
rember this does not delete the virus
This Virus name is buoemx.exe
and some time it Hide ur folder so check for that
tool->option->view-> show hidden files.
i think its a kind of virus… Just go to your folder options >> view >> show all hidden files… it must show the files if its a virus…
Presumably u let barrow your external harddisk to a friend which is typically contains virus within his/her system.
I had a similar problem with my pen drive which I solved with some help from the net. If you have not formatted the drive do this:
Click on “Start” –>Run–>type cmd and click on OK.
Here I assume your drive as G:
Type:
Enter this command.
attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*
Note : Replace the letter g with your Ext drive letter.
Now check for your files.
The credit should go to the original poster but I dont know where I got it from.
Yes, indeed, confirmed it is virus dy.
I had run several scan on it and removed it,
But still i cant unhidden my files, the hidden box is locked, i can’t unhidden it.
@sunflower958, what is the command for? after i type in, one of my folder is unhidden, but the rest are still hidden.
r u using windows 7? disable your folder option? then check it

To be honest,It’s quite possible your files are no longer there,The command given to you by sunflower958 did effectively unhidden
all of em,I suggest you use Slacko (A Linux Live OS) to determine whether this is the case or not:
http://ftp.nluug.nl/ftp/pub/os/Linux/distr/puppylinux/puppy-5.3.1/slacko-5.3.1-SCSI-MAIN.iso
Burn it with imgburn (using the “write image file to disc” option),When done,Restart,Then enter the BIOS (usually
done by tapping DEL but do read the text at the bottom of the screen to know for sure) and adjust the boot order
accordingly (The DVD drive has to be set as the first device),Then it’d boot from it,The rest is fairly obvious,Once
it’d finish loading you’ll have a nice desktop interface,With SDAxx appearing on it (partitions),If your data is
actually there you’ll see it,If so,Just copy it to your internal HDD,If not then I guess your gonna have to use a data
recovery app and hope for the best (I highly recommend file scavenger,Do note however that files are only recoverable
til overwritten and for this very reason you should never, ever recover the data to the same partition it was deleted from)
Edit: Btw,Slacko uses single clicks by default,So avoid double clicking on things.
@|Leader|,Yes, I’m using window 7. I doesn’t appeared although i changed the folder option
@Roberto400, do you mean i should change my OS?
Now i changed the folder option to “Show all hidden files”, so now i see the main folder(which is the hidden one), I enter the file, and realize that all the sub-folder are not hidden, is it advisable for me to retrieve them? will the virus affect my laptop?
another thing is a virus had been detected in my laptop call Trojan32:Win32/Ramnit.A.
Slaco is a live (portable) OS…Runs off the CD.
It doesn’t instal or change Windows.
