Usb ports not working after power supply change

August 9th, 2013

I am having problems with my usb ports after a power supply change. When i turn on the pc the ports sometimes works but when i plug in another usb device after it has booted-up all just stop working at once.. Then when try to restart i can’t even use my keyboard to go in bios etc… I then need to remove the power cord for like 10mins to get them to work agen; but same things happens everytime when i plug a new usb device.. they just all stop working… Any help? Is this a prob with the power supply itself? Too low voltage maybe idk…

You could have low volts or an inadequate current capability on the + 5V Standby rail coming from the power supply.
Check the voltage on Pin 9 of the mobo connector..Make sure the plug is in tightly and making good contact..

If things were OK before you changed the PSU, then it would tend to make that the culprit.
