Toshiba Laptop

February 6th, 2020

Just bought a Toshiba L50 C it has a built in battery which Iv’e just charged up, my question is can I run this along side the electric without damaging the battery or wil I need to run it only on the battery till it discharges then recharge via the electric. Reason I’m asking is I had a laptop which the battery came out of but just left it in and ran it on the electric and it damaged the battery.
Thanks

you can run it with the laptop plugged in and it’ll use the direct power first. However it’s not recommended for the very reason you already stated yourself.

Leaving it plugged it, will eventually damage the battery and leave the laptop dependent on external power to work / boot. At some point it would (speaking from experience) simply refuse to even start up without the power connected. It can’t do any harm if you say do it once and a while, but if you constantly leave it connected for hours on end, days at a time or daily, i have seen it happen to become dependant on direct power.
