System Building Help

January 24th, 2020

I am in the market to build a new system as I am using a single core amd @ 1.6 laptop that my sister gave me when my main pc went down, and to say it is inadequate is an understatement. I Would like an all around build for gaming, multi media, with media editing and creation. I’m not sure on what parts/brands to use and what works together. After some “research”, I’ve compiled a build that I would like feedback on and would greatly appreciate it.

I live about 1hr plus traffic from a microcenter so gas would eat up any savings Id recieve. I know a few of the items I could save like 5 bucks on but I went with amazon for prime shipping on a few things. The 280x is a bit expensive because all of the asus directcu’s are sold out at alot of places.I’m not really interested in Mail In Rebates to get some money back after like 3 months. Is there anything I should swap out? I would love your opinions. Thanks.

Answer #1
if you buy it for Gaming, then dont go for AMD,i mean their Drivers are buggy besides you got the latest and best Nvidia 770
i would recommend a 770
For Media Editing go For 16GB Ram and octa or hexa Core Processor
Rest of them are just fine
Answer #2
cpu cooler not necessary unless you want to extreme OC your cpu. For gpu I would go for something else like amd 7950 or 7970 if you want a beast. You’ll get A LOT more for your money. Check out this site too, they are offering free games with some of their GPU’s. Also if you want to go SLI of crossfire or OC your cpu, see that your mobo is able to do these things.
