surround sound setup missing in vista

I don’t have the option of selecting surround sound in vista ? Help me please, thanks

I believe Vista doesn’t come with surround sound. I could be wrong though… if I am, correct me.

fyi. Vista can support it..
It’s dependent on the card and drivers.
Can the card support 5.1 if it can have you got the latest drivers?

Can you tell us what card it is? or is it onboard.
When you say can’t select surround sound, where are you trying to do this? (windows control panel or sound card options)
Is the option grayed out or just missing?
